My partner is remodeling the house, again. She is just finishing up the Girls’ bedroom–she’s stripped the carpet, painted the walls, put down hardwood, but now she needs to put on the trim. So she goes into the local construction store to buy trim. And while she’s picking out trim, an overly helpful employee comes over and ‘helps’ her, by showing her how to use a saw. Literally, how to use a saw, as if my partner had never constructed anything in her life…Would this have happened if my partner had been a man? Who knows, but the unwanted help came across as condescending.

A writer, a seeker, a raven and a snake, I write to my inspiration, the world unseen, the conflicts unheard, the magic of the verse, perhaps magnified, stylized, and dramatized for the theater of thought.
